"There is no crueller tyranny than that which is perpetrated under the shield of law and in
the name of justice."
Charles de Montesquieu,

BOARD OF DIRECTORS
![]() Garth Eaton Chairman |
For well over three decades, Garth Eaton has fought against the adverse effects
created by the wilful falsification of his identity. These false accusations which claimed another
country of birth and a criminal history in that country, and ours, have taken an enormous financial toll.
Yet throughout it all he has been strength- ened for what lies ahead. And his skilful use of our Courts to clear his name is now recorded testimony to that strength. |
There would be few in our country who have Garth Eaton's firsthand experience within our civil and criminal justice arenas. As he says: "Arenas that often fail to deliver justice solely because of the financial circumstances of innocent Australians who naively believe that justice is a human right, and not a right that so often can only be bought."
The Chairman's lifelong personal charter of developing Australian technology for an export market is a charter that has been frequently interrupted and damaged by Courtroom battles. But these experiences have served to ensure that no Chairman could be better placed to guide The Australian Justice Tribunal on its mission to assist those Australians who are in dire need of pro bono (free) legal representation of the highest standard.
Graeme Langsford B.Sc(Med) MBBS FRACS |
Early academic achievements would not surprisingly set Mr Langsford on a path
that would contribute significantly to the welfare of others. And it was his post graduate study in surgery
that cemented his direction and innate desire to assist where he was most needed - Rural Australia.
Over and above his calling as a Specialist Surgeon it was his interest in skin cancer that caused him to specialise in relieving suffering that has long been synonymous with Australian climate conditions. |
Few men and women in Graeme's profession escape the adversarial Courtroom dramas that require their professional testimonies, both written and oral, during litigation that embroils Australians in workers compensation and third party insurance claims. It was his exposure to these sagas that caused him to reflect on the necessity for greater emphasis on inquisitorial (investigative) justice in our Courts - a system that disallows the manipulation of witnesses and truth simply to achieve a positive outcome for the best legal team; often at the debilitating expense of innocent Australians. Mr Langsford has far more to offer on this subject.
But for now, we welcome a man of caring nature onto the Board; a man still active in surgery with a deep interest in quality teaching who lives by the philosophy, "We are here for each other". And no philosophy could be more aligned with the Objectives of The Australian Justice Tribunal.
James Guy B.Bus |
Twenty years in the Stockbroking Industry saw James Guy thoroughly groomed in the
professional environment of finance and equities.
As he stepped through the ranks of financial advisor and research analyst his roles encompassed the management of portfolios, placement of funds and the review and allocation of equity shares. |
James further distinguished his career as lecturer and guest speaker at Monash University and the Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology. And as a regular writer for the Business Section of Victoria's major daily newspaper, "The Age", he contributed greatly to his profile and again reinforced his recognition within the Securities Industry; recognition that was created over a decade ago, but one that he continues to enjoy to this day.
With a background in Stockbroking, finance and banking, James Guy was well-positioned to enter into international commerce as he developed an importing business of significant benefit to Australian agriculture. It was his vision to risk involvement in ground-breaking technology which altered the parameters - in time and cost - of harvesting stone-fruits from Australian orchards.
And although IT now takes up much of his life, James has dedicated time to the welfare of others, internationally, as a Founding Member of the Oceania Transition Foundation; an organisation founded to benefit trade and develop business within the South Pacific region in a manner that sustains cultural heritage and ensures regional prosperity. It is this character trait that makes James Guy a welcome addition to the Board.
Diarmuid Hannigan B.Mech.E. |
Diarmuid Hannigan's transition from his profession as a mechanical engineer to that of
small business within the food industry was a seamless transition that would stamp his entrepreneurial skills across
the thirty-two years that lay ahead, and without any sign of these skills abating.
But his character has not just driven him to be solely entrepreneurial. |
Yet fighting for justice within a domestic, and at times, an international business arena, has often been overshadowed by his insistence that there are those who have an equal right to be treated with decency and respect; and that's irrespective of their drug and alcohol dependencies. Diarmuid's dedication to ridding our community of these social afflictions has consumed many years.
And it is Diarmuid Hannigan's awareness of his own social responsibilities that has towered above the trappings of his business life. All the Awards and all his contributions to commerce through educational videos, including "Starting Your Own Business" and later, "The Secret to Export Success" and "Winners", take second place to the social responsibility that he now brings onto the Board of The Australian Justice Tribunal.
